Haven Genk
In 1997, Group Machiels and ArcelorMittal jointly took over the Coal Port of Genk and after a conversion of the coal port into a trimodal container terminal, the name was changed to Haven Genk. Haven Genk is now an essential link for trimodal transport. Containers or goods supplied by inland navigation are transhipped to trains or trucks, or vice versa. The port is also equipped with the necessary infrastructure to temporarily store these containers and goods - metal ores, minerals, big bags, granite, rice, corn ... -.
