As a member of the new Corporate Business Development Team of Group Machiels in Hasselt you will gather business intelligence information about various group activities. You analyze this intelligence in order to identify new potential projects and to create value and growth for the company. Customer and market focus are key as well as business effectiveness and efficiency. The team works along two horizons:

1. Commercial Business Development with a one-year outlook (“evolution”) and emphasis on organic growth, improvement of existing business processes, potential optimizations, awareness for business information, etc.

2. Strategic Business Development with a one to three years outlook (“transformation”) and emphasis on anorganic growth (M&A), new business models, CAPEX-growth, etc.

You are the sparring partner for the various business units analyzing a wide variety of data. You access both internal sources as well as external sources. You actively work on existing markets and newly identified markets. You present your intelligence and proposals by means of meaningful indicators and presentations to facilitate the decision making process. In this role you are part of a small data analytics team and report to the Group Business Developer.
The team has a clear goal to realize both organic and anorganic (M&A) growth for the Group, through your advice based upon quantitative and qualitative analysis.
We are looking for ambitious, savvy go-getters with zest, analytical skills and discipline. Those who just graduated or had their first work experience (maximum of 2 years) with one of the big four are most welcome.
